Overview
Nursing home places in North Rhine-Westphalia can be subsidized by a nursing home allowance. The application is usually submitted by the nursing home for the resident's place in the home . The residents must agree in writing to the application being submitted by the facility.
The Office for Social Affairs and Housing checks the financial circumstances of the residents.
If the application is approved, the amount will reduce the costs of the home. In every case in which admission to a home is planned and the (residual) costs are to be covered by the social welfare provider, the need for a home must be checked. You can find the form "Application for determination of need for residential care" under "Forms and links". The form is not required for proven care grades 4 and 5 and for care grade 3 from the age of 65.
