The City of Bonn keeps a register of sites suspected of being contaminated and contaminated sites. These are

• old landfills (former landfills where waste was deposited)
• Old sites (land on which environmentally hazardous substances have been handled)
• Suspected contaminated sites (old landfills and old sites where there is a suspicion of harmful soil changes).

To obtain information about a property from the register of contaminated sites, a request must be made. Either the street and house number of the property or the district, parcel and parcel number must be provided.

The information in the contaminated site register of the City of Bonn is subject to data protection in individual cases. For this reason, before information is provided, it is checked whether the consent of the respective landowner must also be submitted.

Fees may be charged for information from the register of contaminated sites:

• Simple written and verbal information is free of charge.
• Comprehensive written information up to 500 euros
• Compilation of extensive documents up to 1,000 euros
