Description
The help landscape for children and young people with physical, mental and psychological disabilities is currently divided into two parts. Child and youth welfare services are responsible for children and young people with (impending) mental disabilities in accordance with Book Eight of the German Social Code (SGB VIII). In contrast, from 01.01.2020, social welfare will be the primary responsible service provider in accordance with the Ninth Book of the German Social Code (SGB IX) if an (impending) mental or physical disability is diagnosed.
In order to create an even more effective support system for families and their children and to make integration assistance services clearer, the city of Bonn has decided to develop a joint integration assistance service under the umbrella of youth welfare services.
Our common goal is to streamline the interfaces between the Office for Children, Youth and Family and the Office for Social Affairs and Housing in the best possible way, to increase the efficiency of administrative action and to seize the opportunity to use the instruments of integration assistance to pave the way towards an inclusive society.
