Together with Stadtwerke Bonn, the city council is building up to 30 mobile stations in Bonn and Beuel city center. Anyone wishing to combine a public transport journey with the use of a rental bike, e-scooter or car sharing, for example, will find the best conditions for this at these stations. They are strategically located close to public transport or cab ranks. Your advantage: The mobile stations offer numerous services that promote environmentally friendly mobility, i.e. support you in leaving your car behind and using emission-free alternatives.

The range of services includes

• Lockable lockers in which E-Bike-batteries can be charged
• Bicycle parking garages and lockable bicycle boxes
• Covered bike racks where you can park your bike with your own lock
• Rental of e-cargo bikesbikes
• Air pump service
• Charging stations for e-cars
• Carsharing-locations
• Stations of the bike rental system

Not all mobile stations are the same - they differ in the type and number of services they offer. We look forward to presenting you with pictures as soon as the first mobile stations have been completed.

Bonn is getting bicycle parking garages at four central locations with a total of 280 lockable boxes in which bicycles can be parked safely and dryly:

• Frankenbadplatz: 48 parking spaces
• Stiftsplatz: 64 parking spaces
• Konrad-Adenauer-Platz: 72 parking spaces
• Beuel train station: 96 parking spaces

These modular parking systems will be installed by the end of 2023 as part of the "Emission-free city center" funding project. They are fully automated and the lockers can be booked and paid for via app. The parking lots consist of mechanical lightweight modules and a digital operating platform that are in constant communication. Within each tower, the bicycle lockers move vertically in a paternoster lift system.

In addition to the bike, personal accessories such as helmets, rain protection and rucksacks can be stored in a storage compartment. The box can be accessed several times during the booking without additional effort, for example to store shopping. Friends and family can also access the booked bike parking space via the "Share Box" function.

The provision of the mobile stations should reduce carbon dioxide(CO2) emissions by 1,560 tons and nitrogen oxide(NOx) emissions by 1,550 kilograms every year until 2025. These values were determined in advance by an external expert office. This is an estimate of how many car journeys could be eliminated thanks to the mobile stations - by shifting these journeys to other modes of transport such as bicycles, public transport or Shared-Mobility services such as e-scooters or rental bikes.
