The UNESCO International Center for Vocational Education and Training has a unique mandate to promote vocational education and training worldwide and to support countries in providing relevant, lifelong vocational education and training that is accessible to all. UNESCO-UNEVOC provides services for global network building, skills acquisition, human resources and organizational development, and targeted information dissemination.

The center is present in over 165 countries through a worldwide network of 280 UNEVOC centers. UNESCO-UNEVOC's work includes local policy review, capacity building through targeted education and training, as well as local advisory services and conferences on the various areas of vocational education and training, such as the transition from school to work, environmental considerations and the acquisition of entrepreneurial skills. The development of skills through targeted UNEVOC programs takes place at national level as well as through regional or international cooperation and in close coordination with the members of the UNEVOC network.
