The Beuel-Mitte study area is bounded by Werdstraße and Clemensstraße to the north, Niederkasseler Straße and Königswinterer Straße to the northeast, the railroad line to the east, Ringstraße to the south and the Rhine to the west. Sankt Augustiner Straße (Bundesstraße 56), the main road, divides the study area into two halves in terms of urban development. The district center along Friedrich-Breuer-Straße, which is characterized by many stores and restaurants as well as cultural offerings, borders directly south of this main traffic axis.
In the northern and southern areas, on the other hand, the study area is predominantly characterized by residential areas, which are very densely built-up due to their partly Wilhelminian-style structures (e.g. in the Combahnviertel). In the peripheral areas, the building structure is somewhat more relaxed.
The participation workshop
After the first phase of the participation process to analyze the current situation and define objectives took place in August and September 2023, the second participation phase will take place with a focus on concrete recommendations for action and measures.
The participation event will take place as a face-to-face event on Monday, November 27, 2023, from 6 p.m. in the council chamber of Beuel town hall. The engineering firm IKS Mobilitätsplanung from Kassel, commissioned by the city of Bonn, will present concrete recommendations for action and measures based on the suggestions and comments from the first participation phase as well as the technical specifications, which should be taken into account in the course of implementing the concept. The event will then provide a further opportunity to discuss and contribute suggestions and comments on these recommendations for action.
The participation event is based on a resolution passed by the Beuel district council on August 9, 2023.

Next steps
After this event, the presentation will be published online via the city's participation portal www.bonn-macht-mit.de (opens in a new tab). All citizens will have another 14 days - from Tuesday, November 28 to Tuesday, December 12, 2023 - to submit their suggestions on the parking concept.
Based on the suggestions made by citizens and the engineering firm's recommendations for action and proposed measures, the administration will then draw up a detailed parking concept, which will then be presented to the Beuel district council for approval.
