"Bonn helps Kherson" - schools join in!

Mayor Katja Dörner asks Bonn schools for support for the solidarity partnership with the city in southern Ukraine.

Mayor Katja Dörner has sent a letter to Bonn's schools under the heading "Bonn helps Kherson - Bonn schools help!". In it, she asks the school principals to support the donation partnership "Bonn helps Kherson", which the city of Bonn has founded in cooperation with the Bonn aid organization "Help - Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe". There are many ways to do this, for example by organizing school flea markets, craft activities, charity runs, concerts and much more. Events that have already been planned could also be given a charity character and thus contribute to the aid.

"I would be delighted if you and your school would also take part in this campaign," writes Mayor Katja Dörner in the appeal and hopes that "together we will succeed in helping the people in Kherson who are particularly affected by the war."

Every school or class that gets involved in the "Bonn helps Kherson" donation partnership will receive a certificate of participation as a thank you. The city of Bonn is also publishing photos of the campaign in a picture gallery at  www.bonn-hilft-cherson.de. (opens in a new tab)

In July and August, vehicles from the fire department and Bonnorange as well as donations in kind such as technical equipment and tools, office equipment, medical products and hygiene articles were already brought to the war zone. The ZeSaBo central warehouse for donations in kind and the Blau-Gelbes-Kreuz association assisted with the collection and transportation. Further information and ways to get involved can be found at  www.bonn-hilft-cherson.de. (opens in a new tab)
