Can I voluntarily get tested for the coronavirus?
Diagnostic center in Bad Godesberg
Drive-In test center on the Rheinaue
The city had set up another testing center in the parking lot on Petra-Kelly-Allee at the Rheinaue. Personnel from the professional and volunteer fire departments took swabs there from people whom the health department had identified as first-order contacts and who had no symptoms.
Following a decision by the crisis management team of the Federal City of Bonn in late November, the drive-in testing center was closed on December 31, 2020. Because significantly more testing capacity has been created at established medical practices in recent months, the drive-in is no longer needed at this time. Should this situation change in the future, it can be put back into operation in the short term.
Coronavirus test regulation
The of the German Federal Ministry of Health of December 1, 2020 and , which was issued for this purpose, comprehensively regulates the implementation of and entitlement to testing for SARS-CoV-2. The institutions named in the ordinance must submit a test concept to the health authorities and independently arrange for so-called PoC tests (point of care antigen tests). If a positive PoC test is found, the public health department must be informed immediately. The Health Department will then order a PCR test. The PoC tests to be procured independently by the institution are invoiced via the Association of Statutory Health Insurance Physicians (Kassenärztliche Vereinigung) (see § 7 TestV). At present, the Bonn Health Authority cannot offer training courses in accordance with Section 4 of the above-mentioned general ruling.
Test concepts of the institutions concerned can be sent to the Health Department of the Federal City of Bonn by email to . The test concepts are considered approved if the minimum contents specified in the above-mentioned general ruling are taken into account and no feedback is received from the Health Department within 14 days. The confirmation of receipt sent by the public health department is considered as proof.
The results of positive PoC tests can be reported to the Health Department by calling 0228 71 75.
For all questions regarding TestV and test concepts, please contact Mrs. Gutsmiedl at the Health Office on 0228 77 86 962.
