The approximately three-hour walk on Thursday, September 23, 2021, will start at 4 p.m. at the UN Campus train stop and will lead to Bonn-based organizations that conduct research on global justice issues and contribute with their knowledge to diverse networks. How does "knowledge made in Bonn" influence politics, business and society and how does it contribute to a more just world? Interested participants will have the opportunity to talk to experts who are committed to achieving the global Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Please note that a so-called ‘3G certificate’ is required for participation.
The highlight of the anniversary year is a conference followed by a reception on Friday, September 24, starting at 1:30 p.m. at the Bonn Art Museum. In various panels, experts from the Global South will discuss together with experts from Bonn the question of how fair wages contribute to economic justice, what knowledge is available - and how this knowledge can be put to use for more justice.
Please note that a so-called ‘3G certificate’ is a prerequisite for participation.
Since its founding in 1991, Südwind has been working to achieve economic, social and environmental justice worldwide. The institute exposes unfair structures, makes them public, offers alternative courses of action and thus aims to contribute to change. In doing so, Südwind combines research with development policy PR work in Germany and carries topics and demands into networks, society, companies and politics.
Background Annual Partnership
Since 2000, the City of Bonn has invited a Bonn-based international organization to participate in an annual partnership each year. The organization has the opportunity to present itself and its subject areas in a series of high-profile events. The City supports these events with extensive services as a contribution to deepening international as well as municipal cooperation.
