Bonn and the Palestinian city of Ramallah have maintained friendly ties since the year 2009. Since 2017, the two cities have been cooperating under the project "German-Palestinian Municipal Partnerships" launched by the Service Agency Communities in One World/Engagement Global. The collaboration focuses on the areas of culture, resilience and inclusion.

Musa Hadid will be accompanied by Sali A. S. Qatawi, Head of the Department for Culture and Social Affairs of the Ramallah Municipality. Among other things, the meeting with Mayor Dörner will focus on discussing topics and priorities for the future development of this cooperative project, which had initially been agreed upon until 2023.

Hadid has been Mayor of the City of Ramallah, which hosts parts of the government of the Palestinian Territories, since 2012. The city, with a population of around 30,000, is the political, economic and cultural center of the Palestinian territories.
