As of the end of September, a total of 77,369 euros in donations had been collected under the "Bonn helps Kherson" fundraising project. The City and Help are working together to collect donations for humanitarian projects in Kherson. Due to the ongoing attacks as well as the destruction of the Kakhovka dam in early June, many people in Kherson and the region are in need of support.
"I am very grateful and proud seeing the great willingness of our concert guests to donate - and in general, the solidarity in Bonn with Ukraine and the City of Kherson," says Mayor Katja Dörner. "Numerous citizens* have already supported the reconstruction in Kherson through monetary donations, benefit concerts or charity runs. Every act of solidarity within the framework of this partnership contributes to helping the people of Kherson in their time of need."
"We are very happy and thank all concert visitors for the great fundraising result. This was not only a very successful evening as far as the wonderful music is concerned. We hope that the impressive solidarity of the people of Bonn will continue down the road. Whether through fundraising activities organized by schools, companies or private individuals - together we can support even more people in Kherson," says Bianca Kaltschmitt, Help Managing Director.
