Join in with your instrument: Curtain rises for the Open Philharmonics

Performing music together with a professional orchestra and staging a concert - enthusiastic amateur musicians aged twelve and over now have this special opportunity. The Beethoven Orchestra Bonn is accepting registrations for the participatory concert "Open Philharmonics - Grenzenlos 3".

Amateur musicians and the BOB at the "Open Philharmonics" concert in the Telekom Dome in 2022

Together with the professional musicians from the Beethoven Orchestra Bonn, amateur musicians may now rehearse works for the concert "Open Philharmonics - Grenzenlos 3" on Saturday, July 6, 2024, at 7 p.m. in the Telekom Forum under the direction of General Music Director Dirk Kaftan in five rehearsals (June 15, 22, July 2, July 3 and July 6). The works to be played include Florence Price's Symphony No. 1, a medley by Duke Ellington, George Gershwin's "Rhapsody in blue" and folk songs from South Africa.

Join in if you play one of the following instruments:

Violins, violas, cellos, double basses, flutes (including piccolo), oboes, clarinets (including bass clarinet), bassoons, saxophones (alto + tenor), horns, trumpets, trombones, tubas, timpani, percussion (including drumset, xylophone, vibraphone, glockenspiel, cymbals a2, bass drum, hanging cymbals, snare drum, tam tam, tambourine). cymbals, snare drum, tam tam, triangle), banjo.

In addition to technical skills on the respective instrument and regular attendance at rehearsals, all you need is pleasure in playing in an orchestra and the courage to take part. Registration is open until Monday, April 8, 2024, at  beethoven.jetzt/openphil24 (opens in a new tab) .
