Coronavirus: Eleven suspected cases in Bonn

There is still one confirmed case of coronavirus in Bonn (as at 16:00 on Tuesday, 3 March). Speculations that the city had decided to close the Queen Juliana School on the basis of one case are wrong; there is neither a justified suspicion nor a school closure.

For the Clemens-August-School in Poppelsdorf there are now 220 smears; all of them are negative. The public health department is in daily contact with the children and staff of the OGS, who are under domestic quarantine. Here the situation is unchanged; nobody shows any symptoms.

The situation is different in the case of the company in Endenich with an employee from Cologne, where the corona virus was confirmed. Of the 17 Bonn contact persons who are now in domestic quarantine, five have symptoms of the disease. These are well-founded suspected cases; smear tests were taken.

A further six cases of justified suspicion, completely independent of each other (not seven cases as initially reported), are still awaiting all the results of the swab.

This brings the number of suspected cases in Bonn to eleven.
