The popular three-day event, which traditionally opens the open-air season in Bonn, will once again offer plenty of music in 2024. On the main stage on the large flower meadow on Friday, May 3, stars of the 90s will provide a party atmosphere. Fab Morvan aka Milli Vanilli will be there, for example. On Saturday, there will be a program of pop, Kölsch rock, musicals and party music divided into various musical blocks, including the Hermes House Band. Sunday will once again be dedicated entirely to families, which will also be reflected in the stage program on the main stage: At the all-day show for younger guests, well-known actors from the ARD and ZDF children's channel "KiKA" will be on stage, such as "Kikaninchen", "Bernd das Brot" and "TanzAlarm".
The second stage on the small flower meadow is also part of the newly designed stage concept. Here, the award-winning Cologne club "Bootshaus" will take over the program on all three days and bring the spirit of the "Bootshaus" cosmos to the Bonn Rheinaue.
Modern mix of fireworks and drone show
The highlight of "Rhine in Flames" 2024 in Bonn and the Siebengebirge will be a modern combination of fireworks and a high-tech drone show on Saturday evening, May 4, for the first time. As a contribution to environmental protection and to significantly reduce noise emissions, the fireworks display will be shortened to around twelve minutes compared to previous years. In addition, people can look forward to a 15-minute show with 300 drones. Both show elements will partially overlap and can still be admired from the Rhine as well as from the Rheinaue. Also new: a grandstand will be set up at the Rheinauensee for the best view of the fireworks and drone show. Tickets (seating only) are now available in advance at .
The event site will be restructured and expanded to include a medieval market. There will be a wide range of food and drink on offer in the form of newly designed "food courts".
Boat convoy on the Rhine starts in the south of Bonn
The convoy, which is expected to consist of 17 illuminated ships and is organized by Tourismus- und Congress GmbH, starts at dusk with an opener, an opening firework display, in the south of Bonn. The atmospheric journey initially leads from Mehlem down the Rhine along various illumination highlights on the banks to the North Bridge. There, the boats turn around and, after another firework display, they head back up the Rhine along the urban backdrop of Bonn. After a total journey of around 20 kilometers, the ships then form up for the final fireworks display with drone show at the Rheinaue. Further information on the boat event can be found at .
