Bonn SDG Days 2022 will again bring 17 days for the 17 goals

Under the proven motto "17 days for the 17 goals", the Bonn SDG Days will take place again this fall. From September 25 to October 11, 2022, they will provide lots of information and a colorful program around the 17 United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and their implementation in Bonn. With a public call, the Department of International Affairs and Global Sustainability is inviting the city administration and civil society to participate in the colorful program and get involved.

Amongst others, the call has been followed by the community for disabled people in Bonn, House MIGRApolis and many groups of the Bonn Network for Development. In addition, the SDG Partnership Conference of the City of Bonn with its partner cities will take place during the action period from September 26 to 28, 2022, as well as the SDG Award Ceremony of the UN SDG Action Campaign on September 27 as a hybrid event to be held at Telekom headquarters.

Kick-off event: #ZeroHungerRun

The kick-off event is Welthungerhilfe's #ZeroHungerRun at Rheinaue park taking place on September 25, the seventh anniversary of the adoption of Agenda 2030. The City of Bonn is a cooperation partner of Welthungerhilfe, which turns 60 this year. Mayor Katja Dörner and the Secretary General of Welthungerhilfe, Mathias Mogge, are jointly calling on schools, associations, companies, communities, initiatives, organizations, UN agencies and all citizens of Bonn to join in the run for a world without hunger, as laid down in SDG Goal No. 2. The City is also recruiting its own staff to form a large running team. The Bonn-based UN SDG Action Campaign is also a cooperation partner #ZeroHungerRun, which joins the #FlipTheScript campaign of the UN Action Campaign as one of more than 15 high-profile SDG actions ("public stunts") worldwide on Sept. 25.

Complementing the content of the #ZeroHungerRun, the SDG Days program will feature an online discussion organized by the City of Bonn and Welthungerhilfe on "Good Food for All. How can we do it together?" (in German).

17 Goal Zone at Friedrichstraße

Friedrichstraße has been asked to combine its wine mile during the Bonn Festival from 30 September to 2 October with a benefit action in favor of Welthungerhilfe. Under an umbrella roof in the colors of the Sustainable Development Goals, Friedrichstraße will once again become the 17 Goals Zone.

Various events are planned with local stores and restaurants in cooperation with the Bonn Network for Development that will focus on the topics of child labor and fair fashion, for instance. These will also include a fashion walk through various stores in and around Friedrichstraße with the women's rights organization FEMNET, the current annual partner of the City of Bonn. In cooperation with Scientists4Future, a pub quiz on SDG 13 (climate action) has also been planned.

Bonn Sustainability Action Days

The Bonn SDG Days form part of the Bonn Sustainability Action Days, a new and wider umbrella for communications, aiming to promote the diverse Bonn action formats in the fall, for which various city offices and/or active civil society are responsible, in a targeted manner.
