Central Donation Center collects hygiene products and baby food for Kherson

Donations in kind for the southern Ukrainian city can be handed in at the Central Donation Center (ZeSaBo) in Bonn. The Blue-Yellow Cross Association and ZeSaBo are jointly calling for donations.

Hygiene products, cleaning materials, baby food - many areas of Ukraine lack the most basic necessities - including the southern Ukrainian city of Kherson. The Blue-Yellow Cross association and the Central Donation Center Bonn (ZeSaBo) have therefore once again launched a collection of donations in kind. On Wednesdays and Fridays from 11 am to 7 pm and on Saturdays from 11 am to 3 pm, goods can be handed in at the warehouse at Endenicher Straße 95.

In addition to personal hygiene kits with, shampoo and conditioner, soap, shower gel, toothpaste and shaving foam, for instance, household chemicals such as washing powder, dishwashing liquid, toilet paper, all-purpose cleaner and wet wipes are also collected. Milk formula, diapers and fruit and vegetable jars are needed for the little ones.

The City of Bonn had asked for the most urgent needs in Kherson. An exact list of requirements can be found on the ZeSaBo website at  https://www.zesabo.de/sachspenden/cherson.html (opens in a new tab). It also documents the status of donations and makes transparent what has been received to date and what is still missing. ZeSaBo prepares the donations for transportation and the Blue-Yellow Cross Association will take care of the transportation to Ukraine.

ZeSaBo already supported the Blue-Yellow Cross Association in collecting donations in kind in the summer of 2023 following the destruction and breakage of the Kachovka Dam. At that time, technical equipment and tools, office equipment, medical products and hygiene articles were collected and brought to Ukraine. The City of Bonn has maintained a solidarity partnership with the city of Kherson since February 2023. With the support of the Bonn aid organization "Help - Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe", the City of Bonn is implementing the donation project "Bonn helps Kherson" as part of its solidarity partnership with the Ukrainian city.
