22nd Bonn Dialogue for Cybersecurity

The organizers of the 22nd Bonn Dialogue on Cybersecurity (BDCS) invite all interested parties to attend the event entitled "Cybernation Deutschland - Gemeinsam sind wir sicherer" on Thursday, 18 April 2024, from 5 to 8 p.m., taking place in Lecture Hall 2, Poppelsdorf Campus, Friedrich-Hirzebruch-Allee 5.

Cyber security is a task for the entire country that we can only tackle together. This is the basis of a vision of the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) for a "Cyber nation Germany", which Claudia Plattner, President of the BSI, will talk about in her keynote speech. In order to achieve the strategy goals, the aim is to work in partnership with business, science and politics to substantially increase cyber resilience, among other things. "Cyber threats are diverse and are now causing enormous damage to the economy, administration and society. The state and society must therefore work together to counter this threat consistently and courageously," says Prof. Michael Meier, moderator of the event, explaining the choice of topic.

The potential that lies in this vision and the challenges that a cybernation Germany would have to overcome will be discussed in a subsequent panel discussion. Claudia Plattner will be joined by Axel Petri, Deputy Chief Security Officer at Deutsche Telekom AG and Chairman of the Board of the Cyber Security Cluster Bonn association, Eva Tiefenau, scientist at the Fraunhofer Institute for Communication, Information Processing and Ergonomics FKIE, and Peter Weidenbach, Information Security Officer and Head of Information Security at the University Hospital Bonn (UKB), to discuss the topic. The discussion will be moderated by Professor Dr. Michael Meier, Professor of Computer Science at the University of Bonn and Head of the Cyber Security Department at Fraunhofer FKIE.

Questions can be submitted during the event or in advance by e-mail to  kontaktfkie.fraunhoferde.
