Germany’s United Nations City is again celebrating United Nations Day with a colorful festival with music, children's activities and information booths on Saturday, October 21, 2023, from 11:15 am to 4 pm. 

In a letter to Ron Huldai, mayor of the Israeli city of Tel Aviv-Jaffa, which has been on friendly terms with the City of Bonn for decades, Bonn's mayor Katja Dörner expressed the solidarity of Bonn.

The joint fundraising campaign of the organization "Help - Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe" (Help for Self-Help) and the City of Bonn has been a great success: At the final concert of Bonn’s Beethoven Festival alone, 4,408 euros were donated for Bonn's Ukrainian partner city of Kherson. 

A three-member delegation of the City of Bonn is currently traveling to Ghana from October 18 to 25 to pay a visit to Bonn’s project partner city of Cape Coast. Deputy Mayor Dr. Ursula Sautter is accompanied by two senior staff members from the Department of Urban Planning and the Department of International Affairs.

Whether the Rhine floods in the 1990s, flash floods at the creek in Mehlem in 2013 or the heavy rains in the summer of 2021 - these and other severe weather incidents are still vividly in the memory of many people in Bonn. Currently, the City of Bonn is revising its disaster management planning for possible flooding of the Rhine as well as major storm situations. On this occasion, it informs about changes and reminds people to take some precautions on their own.
