On Saturday, May 6, 2023, the city of Bonn will celebrate Bonn’s Europe Day with a colorful stage program, information booths and activities in front of the Old Town Hall. The motto this year is "EU Update - Living and Learning in Europe".

UNITAR, the United Nations Institute for Training and Research, celebrates its 60th anniversary in 2023. Since 2020, UNITAR has also maintained an office on Bonn's UN Campus. The Bonn office marked the anniversary on Wednesday, May 3, 2023, with a high-level panel discussion on the past and future of education and research in response to current global challenges. Afterwards, the City and UNITAR hosted a joint reception on the UN Campus.

The Global Water Operators’ Partnerships Alliance (GWOPA), hosted by UN-Habitat, is an international network created to support and facilitate the work of water operators through Water Operator’s Partnerships (WOPs). The Alliance is pleased to invite you to the 5th Global WOPs Congress at the Bonn World Conference Centre on 22-25 May 2023!

The City of Bonn supports its partner city of La Paz with the purchase of e-cars for outpatient health care services. After the symbolic handover of the first car in February, all six e-cars have now been handed over in La Paz. The small environmentally friendly cars had been tested beforehand to ensure that they could be used in the small steep streets and alleys in the city and surrounding areas. 

Register now for the #ZeroHungerRun, the popular Bonn charity run of Welthungerhilfe. On Sunday, September 10, young and old are invited for the sixth time to run together in Bonn’s Rheinaue park for a world without hunger.

In the nationwide 2022 Bicycle Climate Test conducted by the German Bicycle Club (ADFC) and the German Federal Ministry of Transport, the City of Bonn took first place in the "Best Development" (catch-up) category of cities with a population between 200,000 and 500,000. This recognizes the City of Bonn's commitment to expanding and strengthening cycling as part of the mobility turnaround.

With a diverse sports and cultural program and in the presence of many guests, the first section of the Reuterpark was officially inaugurated on Saturday, April 29, 2023. Mayor Katja Dörner, NRW Minister for Home Affairs, Municipal Affairs, Construction and Digitalization, Ina Scharrenbach, District Mayor Jochen Reeh-Schall and representatives of the initiative "Ein Platz für Alle" (A Place for All) cut the ribbon during a small ceremony.

On May 6, 2023, Bonn’s traditional large outdoor event Rhine in Flames will finally return. After a three-year break due to the pandemic, the event marks the brilliant start of Bonn's open-air season.
