The “Climate-neutral City of Bonn Group” study has been introduced as the first concrete catalog of measures to achieve GHG neutrality for Bonn’s municipal companies. The two biggest challenges are heat supply and waste recycling.

Climate change increasingly leads to extreme consequences such as heat, drought and heavy rainfall. The City of Bonn is now presenting a concept based on the sponge city principle as a systematic basis for drought prevention.

On April 14, 2024, the city will once again belong to runners. The Deutsche Post Marathon Bonn is traditionally one of the biggest city marathon events in spring. The first highlight of the year for all running fans in the region and beyond. Last year, more than 11,000 participants were registered for the race.

It is still possible to get your ticket for one of the ships of the convoy during the spectacular event on the first weekend of May. Or plan your visit to the Rheinaue, where there will be a medieval market, a musical stage program and a great view of the fireworks as well.

The flea market in the Rheinaue is one of the largest flea markets in Germany. Stalls are set up on the third Saturday of every month from April to October. It starts on April 20.
