Another United Nations organization focused on sustainability is now headquartered in Bonn, Germany: the UN Global Geodetic Centre of Excellence (UNGGCE) opened its office on Bonn’s UN Campus on Wednesday, March 29, 2023. 

With the support of the Bonn aid organization "Help - Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe" (Help for Self-Help), the City of Bonn is launching the project "Bonn hilft Cherson" (Bonn helps Kherson) as part of its solidarity partnership with the Ukrainian city. Comprehensive project activities are planned in the areas of reconstruction and humanitarian aid to help the people of Kherson cope with the consequences of the war.

A decisive step taken on the road to a climate-neutral Bonn: on March 23, 2023, the Bonn City Council adopted a target resolution on the "Climate Plan 2035". Intensive political consultations in all specialist committees over the past three months preceded this decision.

The City of Bonn and the Global Crop Diversity Trust celebrated the launch of their annual partnership with a reception at the Old Town Hall on Wednesday, March 8, 2023. The Crop Trust has been based in Bonn for ten years, working to promote biodiversity in agriculture to ensure food security for the world's population.

The City of Bonn, the Regional Representation of the European Commission in Bonn and the association Europa-Union Bonn/Rhein-Sieg invited to a keynote lecture, discussion, networking and exchange in the Old Town Hall.

A project partnership has been in place between Bonn and the Uzbek city of Bukhara for 20 years. Joint projects have successfully been implemented and close cooperation has been maintained throughout the years. As a sign of their solidarity, the cities again celebrated the Uzbek Nawruz spring festival in the Old Town Hall on Wednesday, March 15, 2023. 

Anticipation is rising - on April 23, Bonn's city center finally belongs to running fans again. The last time the Deutsche Post Marathon Bonn had taken place in 2019.
