The group, led by Deputy Mayor Vitalii Bielobrov, met with senior experts in Bonn to discuss a wide range of topics such as infrastructure, civil protection and the economy. Bielobrov and Mayor Katja Dörner also signed a Memorandum of Understanding for further intensive cooperation.

Bonn, the city of the Basic Law, is celebrating democracy with a varied and colorful festival on May 25, 2024. The Basic Law is the constitution of the Federal Republic of Germany and was officially signed in Bonn 75 years ago, on May 23, 1949. 

At the invitation of the German Federal Government, the central ceremony on World Day to Combat Desertification and Drought will take place in Bonn on June 17, 2024. It will be held under the motto "United for Land: Our Earth. Our future." 

Bonn is the "European Forest Capital 2024". With this title, the European Forest Institute (EFI) recognizes the importance of the forest for the city and its inhabitants. Bonn has become a driving force for research and communication on forest-related topics.

In the four climate districts - initially in Beuel-Mitte and Bad Godesberg-Nord, soon to be followed by Medinghoven and Bonn-Zentrum - civil society is to be strengthened and social change towards climate neutrality supported.

Rhine in Flames (May 3 to 5, 2024) will again be a spectacular event in Bonn’s Rheinaue and along the river banks. There will be fireworks and a drone show, a medieval market and live music with a number of special acts.
