The UN-Refugee Aid Germany assists refugees in need world wide. As the German donation partner of UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees) it promotes refugee programmes of UNHCR and other humanitarian organisations in Germany and abroad that take care of refugees. The necessary funds are raised by the membership fees, but in particular by donations.

To improve the living conditions of refugees is the primary object of the UN-Refugee Aid Germany. Integration in the host country and re-integration in the country of origin after voluntary return count among the tasks as well as the psycho-social care of refugees. As women and children are the most afflicted by flight and expulsion, the UN-Refugee Aid Germany is particularly concerned about projects related to this group of persons.

Furthermore the UN-Refugee Aid Germany informs the German public on causes and consequences of flight. A well targeted public relations work increases the awareness of the refugees’ destiny and builds up helpfulness on their behalf.
