UNFCCC - Secretariat of the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change

The UNFCCC convention was adopted by the United Nations Enviroment Summit in 1992 in Rio de Janeiro. It provides the means for the governments of the world to implement the convention and it controls the obligations of the parties to the convention to stabilise greenhouse gas concentration in the atmosphere at a level that will prevent dangerous, human interference with the climate system and mitigates dangers for the climate system.
