Standing Committee of the Directors of Institutions of Higher Education (HRK)

HRK is the voluntary association of official and officially recognised universities and institutions of higher education in Germany. It has currently 262 member institutions, where about 98% of students in Germany are enrolled.
HRK is the voice of Higher Education towards politics and public opinion and it is the joint opinion forming forum of universities and institutions of higher education. HRK treats all subjects related to the mission of universities: research, teaching and studies, post graduate scientific studies, knowledge and technology transfer, international cooperation, and autonomous administration. Focuses of international cooperation: fostering contacts with directors’ committees in other countries and with international universities and higher education associations; promotion of the cooperation between German and foreign universities and between foreign universities.
