SCI focuses on international volunteer work for young people aged 16 or older. Projects aim at rendering a contribution for peace and understanding, for the conservation of a livable environment and for social justice. Volunteer action predominantly takes place in international work camps, i.e. two to three-week missions in international groups to support non-profit social or ecological projects. Moreover, SCI also arranges long-term missions to support numerous projects abroad. The German branch of SCI is responsible for organizing and running programs at home and for placing, preparing and supporting participants / volunteers abroad.
