Nicaragua-Hilfe has been working from Bonn since 1985 and, as honorary development aid association, demonstrates solidarity through action with people in Nicaragua. Their activities are rooted in their solidarity with the Nicaraguan Sandinista movement in the eighties. They are still convinced that it is worthwhile to work for fair conditions in all parts of the world. Therefore they have supported agricultural cooperatives in San Ramon, situated in the central highlands of Nicaragua. They support educational and gender programmes and finance sustainable ecological agricultural projects to render a contribution towards achieving more fair conditions in the world. With their work, they open up a sustainable perspective to the people in the second poorest country of the Western hemisphere. Over the past years they were able to run projects amounting to approximately EUR 250,000.
