The Ökologischer Tourismus in Europa (Ö.T.E.) e.V. (Ecological Tourism in Europe, ETE) is an environmental organization that has campaigned for sustainable tourism development and responsible travel for more than 20 years. Its fields of work include e.g. concepts for sustainable tourism management; nature conservation and tourism in protected areas; training of NGOs and experts on issues of sustainable tourism; implementation of national and international working groups, meetings and conferences; consultancy of decision makers in politics, government and tourism industry regarding tourism policy plans and projects; consumer information and consumer advice. The Ö.T.E. is also a founding member of the association of Viabono, the umbrella brand for sustainable tourism in Germany. For many years the Ö.T.E. has been active in Central and Eastern Europe and as a member of CEEweb for Biodiversity (the central and eastern European network of nature protection organizations) the Ö.T.E. supports the working group on sustainable tourism.
