The BIMUN/SINUB e.V. (Bonn International Model United Nations / Simulation Internationale des Nations Unies de Bonn) was founded in 2002 by students of Bonn University with the goal to hold an annual Model United Nations conference Up to this day varying teams of volunteering students have been supporting and extending the association’s activities. There is the BIMUN/SINUB Lecture Series, a monthly simulation in the team meetings, as well as the Mini-MUN Project where BIMUN/SINUB holds a one-day MUN for pupils in cooperation with the city’s schools.

Since 2009 the Conference is a "Green Conference" and is therefore committed to the principle of sustainability. Their selfconception is based on the idea of raising awareness about issues of international significance and promoting the ideals of the United Nations and the European Union, especially among younger people. The main focus of work of their non-profit organisation is to foster cultural exchange as well as encourage political education and international understanding.
