AGDF is an umbrella organisation of peace services committed locally and in the international ecumenical movement to the establishment of peace. It is an expert organisation for peace work and peace politics within the Protestant Church; it develops continuous qualified Christian activity for peace and civilian processes of conflict settlement. AGDF works since 1968 and unites currently 34 members.

The tasks of the AGDF office encompass: lobbying and public relations to reinforce peace and volunteer services, representing the interests of its members with regard to church and official authorities, coordinating activities under one umbrella, advice and service in applying for sponsoring funds.
