The stadium in Plittersdorf's Rheinaue is one of the top addresses in German baseball and is probably one of the most beautiful baseball parks in Germany.
It was and is the venue of top-class baseball events such as the European Men's Championship in 2001 and the European Junior Championship in 2009, but also the home games of the Bonn Capitals.
For the 2001 European Baseball Championships, the Rheinaue stadium was completely rebuilt, basically rebuilt from scratch. Previously, three fields were grouped around an existing pavilion with a clubhouse, a baseball field with permanent bleachers for about 300 spectators, a softball field and a training and youth field. The fourth leaf of the cloverleaf was still undeveloped. Here, a main field was built with concrete dugouts and bleachers that could hold up to 1500 spectators.
The stadium can be reached by bus lines 610 and 611, combined with a short walk. Coming from Bonn main station, get off at the stop "Ludwig-Erhard-Allee", from there walk through the Rheinaue towards the baseball facility/skateboard ramp. Coming from Bad Godesberg, it is recommended to get off at the stop "Kennedyallee", from here a footpath leads along the Caesar Research Center in the direction of the baseball facility/skateboard ramp. Another possibility is to take the subway line 66 "Telekom-Express" direction Bad Honnef, exit "Rheinaue". From here, walk through the Rheinaue.
