It will be the first big Para-Sports event in Bonn. Bonn's Mayor Ashok Sridharan said: "We are proud that Bonn is the headquarters of the Paralympic Movement. Dance and sports have the power to bring joy into our lives - and joy is Bonn's motto. We welcome all athletes from over the world to a celebration of sport, joy and integration here in Bonn".
The World Championship is organized by the international association World Para Dance Sport, with support rendered by the City of Bonn. The competition is taking place at Bonn's Hardtberghalle.
Camila Rodrigues, World Para Dance Sport Manager, is also looking forward to the event: "We are happy that dancing will be the first Para Sport World Championship to be held in Bonn and look forward to working with the City of Bonn to organize an unforgettable competition for the athletes".
The fifth edition of the World Championship took place in 2017 in Malle, Belgium, and was the biggest competition ever. Around 170 athletes from 22 countries competed for medals at 18 events, with Ukrainian dancers taking the podium nine times. The 2015 World Cup in Italy's capital Rome had attracted 150 dancers from 25 countries.
