Ludwig van Beethoven 1770-1827
Symphony No. 2 in D major op. 36
In cooperation with Deutsche Telekom AG
The Beethoven Orchestra Bonn up close: for beginners and experienced players, for Beethoven fans and those who want to become one! It is always a special experience for us to be in contact with our audience in the Telekom headquarters and to be able to present the great works of classical music in word and sound. There are no fears of contact here and you don’t have to be able to distinguish a double subdominant from a triple Rittberger! We dive deep into Beethoven’s Symphony No. 2: this is the symphony with the hiccups. Will we and the audience be able to listen to the symphony’s unbelievably cheeky finale in the same way as the Viennese did at the premiere? Beethoven was just 30 years old and by no means the old grump that posterity portrayed him as, but rather a dashing, fashionable young man from the Rhineland. With this concert, recorder player and conductor Dorothee Oberlinger introduces herself to our audience: Debut with the Beethoven Orchestra Bonn with Beethoven!
