BonnProfits Start Up Services
The promotion of knowledge-intensive services and the increase of the self-employment rate of women has been the objective of the BonnProfits Start Up Services initiative for more than 10 years, with which the Bonn Economic Development Agency and Sparkasse KölnBonn want to jointly activate start-up potentials of the city of Bonn. Via a well-developed web and social media presence, founders are approached with special modules tailored to the target groups, from office space to consulting, qualification and coaching modules, and the further development of the start-ups is accompanied.
In 2019, BonnProfits Start Up Services had the following activities:
Innovation and Start-up Centre (IGZ)
Since its opening in January 2011, the BonnProfits - Innovation and Start-up Centre in Godesberger Allee 139 in Bonn has developed into an important address for business start-ups with know-how. The high-quality and affordable office space in a central location has so far provided 77 companies with the best conditions for a successful start. A healthy industry mix from the field of knowledge-intensive services as well as an extensive range of consulting and events continue to make the IGZ highly interesting for start-ups.
The workshop series, which will be fully booked in 2019, is aimed specifically at female founders and entrepreneurs with six half-day workshops. With topics such as the concretisation of the individual company profile and target groups, as well as the optimisation of the personal and company image, both participants who are at the beginning of their self-employment and entrepreneurs who are reorienting themselves are addressed. The Workshops serve besides the cross-linking of the entrepreneur inside among themselves.
The Economic Development Agency is a member of the BonnRhein-Sieg start-up network, which was founded to implement the NRW support programme Gründerstipendium.NRW. At the five meetings held in 2019 a representative of the founding team participated as a voting member of the jury.
Cooperation with the University of Bonn
The cooperation with the university will be continued continuously. Short consultation on self-employment as part of the career day, the lecture "From university to self-employment - The small 1 x 1 of freelance work". In order to increase the proportion of women among the self-employed, the range of services is being expanded to include additional formats.
Exchange of experience for female founders
The monthly exchange of experiences is used by women in the start-up and development phase as a platform for presenting their business ideas and exchanging start-up-relevant topics. This offer is taken up by between 15 and 25 women in the start-up and development phase of their companies.
Consultant Network/Founders' Days
The commitment of the "Bonn/Rhein-Sieg Women's Consultants Network", which has been in existence for more than 20 years, aims to increase the proportion of women in the start-up process (currently at 40 percent). As an association of experts from institutions and self-employed female consultants, it supports women in setting up and developing their own businesses and brings women entrepreneurs into the public eye. Every year, the network organises two information events for about 70 participants, with specialist lectures, experience reports and brief advice on specific topics. For the first time in 2019, a Women Entrepreneurs' Day was also held, which was very well received.
