The Deutsche Post Marathon Bonn is traditionally one of the biggest city marathon events in spring. It is considered the first highlight of the year for all running fans in the region and beyond. A total of 18,000 participants were registered for the race in 2025.

In addition to the marathon, the program also included a half marathon for runners, walkers, inline skaters and handbikers. There was also a marathon relay in which four runners shared the 42.195-kilometer course. The 10-kilometer run, which was very popular with participants, was also offered again. Pupils from Year 5 onwards were able to take part in the school marathon free of charge.

The route took the runners across the city, on the Beuel side of the Rhine, south to the Post Tower and along the Museum Mile through the city center. A special highlight: the finish for all disciplines in front of the Old Town Hall.
